Coaching Staff
Coach Bruce Chavka is entering his sixth year at the helm of the Titan basketball program. Coach Chavka came from league rival Southwestern Oregon Community College where he was the assistant men's basketball coach.
Coach Chavka has over 20 years of teaching and coaching experience. Prior to coming to Oregon in 2005, he was the head basketball coach at Napa Valley Community College in California.
Coach C, as he is known among his players, also served as a head high school coach at Middle Park High School in Granby, Colorado, and at La Veta High School in Southern Colorado.
The Colorado native is a graduate of Western State College where he served as an assistant coach to Fred Litzenberger and Bob Hofman. Coach C has also served as the assistant coach and recruiting coordinator at Iowa Wesleyan College in Mt. Pleasant, Iowa, as well as the assistant basketball coach and head men's golf coach at Lamar Community College in Colorado. Coach C also served as a graduate assistant at University of Northern Colorado.
Currently, Coach Chavka serves on the Athletic Leadership Committee at Lane Community College and as a mentor to local kids through Lane County’s Committed Partners for Youth.
Coach C is a proud product of the community college system. He attended Otero Junior College in Colorado and was a shooting guard.
Coach C holds a Bachelors of Science degree in physical education and a Bachelors of Arts degree in history. Coach Chavka is in the Master’s program at Concordia University at Irvine. He is the proud father of a 7 year old daughter, named Hadley, whose favorite teams are the Denver Broncos and the Lane Titans.
Coach Chavka is very excited, enthusiastic and optimistic about the journey that lies ahead.
Tyler Hollingsworth - Assistant Coach
2010-present
Tyler Hollingsworth begins his second season with the Lane Community College men's basketball team in 2010-2011.
Tyler spent three seasons at Lane, playing two. His sophomore year he played for coach Chavka. Tyler was a great leader and added an intense work ethic. After playing at Lane Tyler transferred to the University of Oregon were he pursued a degree in anthropology.
Tyler graduated from North Salem high school in 2003. At North Salem he obtained six varsity letters in basketball, tennis, and soccer. He was named 1st team all-region in tennis as a senior. Tyler graduated with a 3.7 GPA. He was a four time honor student and was given Student Athlete of the Year honors. He has won nationals for racquetball twice. After graduation, Tyler enrolled at the University of Hawaii. He spent one year there before transferring to Lane.
Tyler graduated from the University of Oregon in the spring of 2009, with a Bachelors of Arts degree in Anthropology. He plans on getting his masters degree in education and perusing his goal to coach basketball at the division one level. Tyler was married to the former Jessie Thayer in August 2010.

Luke Fennelly - Assistant Coach
2010-present
Coach Fennelly enters his second season with the Lane Community College Men’s Basketball team.
Luke is a graduate of Whitefish High School in Montana. While a student there, he earned seven varsity letters in basketball and football. Coach Fennelly played basketball for Montana High School Hall of Fame Coach Julio Delgado and was the varsity point guard all fours years of high school. Luke was honored as a 2-time All Conference selection. During his senior year, the team won the Northwest conference title. In addition, Luke was also a 2-time All Conference, All State selection in football. Coach Fennelly was selected as the Northwest conference male athlete of the year in 2007.
Luke is a senior at the University of Oregon, majoring in Business with a minor in Economics.
Coach Fennelly comes from a large family, with four brothers and two sisters. He is the son of Pete and Amy Fennelly.
