Free throws lift LCC to win

Lane overcame a dismal shooting night from the field with a strong effort from the free-throw line for a 71-59 women’s basketball victory over Mount Hood Community College on Wednesday that extended the Titans’ home winning streak to 75 games.

Sarah Brolsma Whitfield scored 17 points to lead Lane (17-1), which shot 29.1 percent (16-for-55) from the field but 79.1 percent (34-for-43) from the foul line.

Theresa Brown had 16 points and 13 rebounds for Lane. Lauren Codling led Mount Hood with 16 points off the bench.
