Lane, Linfield JV split baseball doubleheader

McMINNVILLE — Lane Community College baseball split its two games against Linfield’s JV team Tuesday, losing in extra innings before winning a rain-shortened second game.

The Wildcats won 3-2 in 10 innings to start, with Zach Kayser walking in Kenny Johnson for the winning run in the 10th with the bases loaded. Darrell Hunter provided both the Titans’ runs with a two-run home run in the sixth inning. Right-hander Skip Spencer started for Lane, striking out eight in nine innings.

The Titans (3-1) turned around to win 4-1 in six innings in the second game, scoring three runs in the first inning.

Tym Pearson was 2-for-4 with a run and an RBI for the Titans.
