Lane sweeps openers against George Fox

Lane Community College baseball swept its opening two games Sunday, beating George Fox’s JV team at PK Park.

Former Thurston High standout Trevor Ryan was 2-for-4 with an RBI and two stolen bases in the first game, a 6-2 Titan win that Ben Higgins won behind six strikeouts and no earned runs in seven innings. Jordyn Van Atta was 1-for-1 with a double and two runs scored for LCC.

In the second game, Lane outfielder Tym Pearson singled in former Thurston teammate Matt Myrmo for the walk-off winning run in the 10th inning for the 2-1 victory.

Lane’s John Linscott started, striking out six over seven innings, with no earned runs.
