Lane women earn title and tournament MVP

MOUNT VERNON, Wash. — Courtney Walchli scored 18 points and Kersey Wilcox added 14 as Lane captured the Skagit Valley College Crossover Tournament title with a 59-51 women’s basketball victory over the host Cardinals on Sunday.

Jordan Wilcox had 13 points and Reed Levings grabbed 12 rebounds for the Titans (8-2), who were missing starting guard Joleen Chanco because of a sore knee. Kersey Wilcox was named the tourney MVP, and Walchli also made the all-tournament team.

Lane is idle until Dec. 28 when it plays Treasure Valley at the Chemeketa Holiday Classic in Salem.
