Late rally falls short for Titan men

LAKEWOOD, Wash. — Trailing by 25 with 10 minutes remaining, Lane pulled within two points in the final seconds, but Columbia Basin held on for an 88-84 victory in the Pierce Community College men’s basketball tournament.
Quincy Alexander’s three-pointer with nine seconds left got the Titan (0-3) within 86-84, but Columbia Basin hit two free throws after that to clinch the win.
Alexander scored a game-high 22 points to lead the Titans, who trailed 35-28 at halftime.
Mat Delaunay had 16, Kirk Forstrom added 12 and Brandon Durham had 12 points and 11 rebounds for Lane.
