LCC sweeps pole vault at Willamette Invitational

SALEM - Lane Community College won both the men's and women's pole vault events on the first day of the Willamette Invitational track and field meet on Friday.

Mary Vaughan won the women's pole vault by clearing 10 feet, 6 inches, and Scott Elliott won the men's pole vault at 14-91/2.

The Titans ' Tyler Lindgren was third in the hammer throw with a mark of 174-6, and LCC's Tara Krempley broke her own school record in the 3,000-meter steeplechase with a seventh-place finish in 12 minutes, 8.01 seconds.
