Karen Waddington

Karen has assumed the all-important role of Academic Advisor and Compliance Officer for the student-athletes at Lane.  She is housed in the Student-Athlete Academic Study Center (SAASC) and has a variety of responsibilities including, but not limited to, counseling & advising, registration, financial aid, various student services including labs and study centers, and library services.  She also focuses on getting every current student-athlete on a Student Education Plan (SEP), evaluates their academic progress relative to transfer and completion, as well as helps develop their athletic goals. 
 
Karen attended the University of Oregon where she earned her BS in Sociology in 2008 and MS in Educational Leadership in 2011.  She also was a 4-year starter for the Ducks Volleyball team. She worked closely with University of Oregon student-athletes as a tutor and with their academic success plans, and is clearly very motivated to help student-athletes in her role.
