Lane women drop anvil on Roadrunners

ALBANY - Lane raced to a 25-point halftime lead and cruised to a 75-44 women's basketball victory over Linn-Benton Community College on Wednesday night to open its Northwest Athletic Association of Community Colleges season.

The Titans (12-3) held the Roadrunners (4-9) to 29 percent shooting for the game while winning for the 10th time in their last 11 games.

Sarah Whitfield led four Lane scorers in double figures with 18 points. Theresa Brown, who also had a game-high 13 rebounds, Carmen Williams and Sheena Cole each added 14 points.
