Layoff No Problem For Lady Titans

Lane Lady Titans Head Greg Sheley is always apprehensive about holiday layoffs but his # 1 ranked team dispelled his worry in their first game at the Chemeketa Holiday tournament.  The Titans (12-0) used 15 first half steals and 6-for-8 shooting from the 3-pt line to jump to a 59-31 halftime lead in route to a convincing 117-60 win over Everett CC (6-5) Friday afternoon. 


Simone Thompson (Gardena, CA.) and Kersey Wilcox (Prineville, OR.) combined for 23 halftime points and also lead the squad at game's end with 19 and 18 points respectfully.

Wilcox also the team with 10 assists and 6 steals.  Nicole Hannifan (Milwaukee, OR.) chipped in 12 pts., Courtney Walchli (Hermiston, OR.) and Megan Shields (Sherwood, OR.) had 11 pts. each in the win.  Freshman Renee Lucero (Stanwood, WA.) and Tori Mahaffie (Eugene, OR.) were next with 8 pts. each.


The NWAACC's leading scorer, at 22 pts. per game,  Erin Feeney was the game's leading scorer with 26 pts. including a 10-for-10 performance at the free throw line.


Lane returns to action today at 5pm in a semi-final game versus Columbia Basin College, who the Titans defeated in the first game of the season 70-57.
