Roadrunners and Titans split games
ALBANY, OR - The Lane Baseball team was able to come away with one in the double-header against Linn-Benton on Thursday. Despite a 3-run sixth inning, Lane came up short in a 6-3 loss to the Roadrunners in Game 1. Dawson Phinney pitched 7 1/3 innings giving up ten hits and four earned runs in the loss for the Titans. Michael Bradshaw pitched the win, and Clark McKitrick got the save for Linn-Benton. Elliot Sherrell went 2-for-4 with 1 RBI, Nick Coffman went 1-for-4 with 2 RBIs, and Shaun Boehm (pictured) went 1-for-4 with a double.
Lane started out strong in Game 2 getting two runs in the first inning and three in the second to secure the 5-3 win. Big at bats came from Spencer Smith who went 3-for-4 with a double, triple, and an RBI, and Shaun Boehm who went 1-for-4 with 2 RBIs. Colben McGuire had a strong showing on the mound for the Titans pitching six innings with nine strikeouts in the win, with Zach Kayser getting the save. Austin Hamilton only pitched 1 2/3 innings allowing five runs, 2 of which were earned in the loss for Linn-Benton. Lane's final season record was 23-17 with a league record of 17-13. This puts them 8 games behind Mt. Hood and 4 games back of second-place Chemeketa giving them a very slim chance of any post season play.
